CALLING ALL YOUNG FILMMAKERS
Have you ever watched a movie and thought, “I would love to do that”? Well, now you can. Winterfresh is rolling out the red carpet for local teen filmmakers with a new contest called Fresh Films “On the Road” that lets you be the producer of your own film.

Teens aged 13 to 19 from across Idaho are invited to submit the reason why they would like to participate in a workshop to the Winterfresh Network at www.KNIN.com, from May 3 to May 23, 2004. An expert panel will select ten to fifteen teens that will work with a crew of professional filmmakers in Boise producing your short film from June 13 to 26, 2004.

“Today’s teens have plenty to say and the Fresh Films “On the Road” contest is giving them a chance to show it to a worldwide audience,” said Dave Kroll, marketing director for Wrigley’s Winterfresh brand. “These teens have a unique opportunity to create a real film using industry standard digital equipment. We could be watching the great filmmakers of the future.”

The Fresh Films project is producing a total of 20 teen-created films throughout 2004 including one here in Idaho. Several are already being showcased on the Winterfresh Network; www.winterfresh.com/films so viewers can check out the featured films then submit their own ideas for the contest.

Founded in 2000 as a national viewing location for the best in teen expression, the Winterfresh Network has showcased teen music video producers, Deejays and now filmmakers on its site. The 2004 Fresh Films project was developed through a partnership between Wrigley and Dreaming Tree Films, Inc., to promote and support teen expression through film.

Napolean Dynamite, one of the funnier films in recent memory, was expanded by director (and Preston, Idaho native) Jared Hess from this oh-so sweet (and rarely seen) short comedy.

    SONS OF PROVO
This hilarious, warts-and-all cinema-verite portrait takes us backstage for a privileged glimpse into the lives and music of EverClean, the boy-band pop sensation from Utah. Featuring the extraordinary vocal stylings of Provo brothers (and youth-pageant champions) Will and Danny Jenson, and highlighting the ferociously talented new member (and ardent scrapbooker) Kirby Laybourne.
